Conference Information

Date:  April 20th, 2024

Time:  9am – 6pm

Location:  LAAH 453, 349 Spence St, College Station, TX 77840

The Media & Gaming Lab is hosting an academic conference on April 20th and we invite everyone to attend. The following programs will be showcasing student work: Texas A&M Communication & Journalism Graduate Program, Texas A&M Communication & Journalism Media & Gaming Lab, Texas A&M School of Performance, Visualization and Fine Arts, University of Houston Downtown Center for Latino Studies (of which Anthony Ramirez is the Associate Director of and will be presenting) and Texas A&M Corpus Christi’s Media Production program.

The format for the conference is each group presents their program and use of alternative pedagogical models to teaching and then students will show works they have created through the programs.

In addition to academic programs, we will also have community artists and facilitators presenting their approaches to building community knowledge and creative works. We have an international puppeteer, a creative space owner and a community muralist as part of our community artists programming.

We will have a gaming and creative space in LAAH 463 for family and others to hang out in (as well as snacks and drinks).

The conference is free, breakfast and lunch will be provided, it will be held at LAAH on the 4th floor. All are welcome, please share with undergraduates, graduate students and faculty (forwarding this email is fine). The Media & Gaming Lab is very excited to be hosting this conference and we look forward to seeing you all there!
