Introduction

Seesar and joey phd aka Professors William Connor and Joseph Lopez were invited by Blackmagic Cyborg to headline a Me-Mer Mo Monday at dadalab in Austin, TX. Hosted by Melissa Seely Me-Mer-Mo Monday has been happening since 2016 in Austin according to their Fusebox page.

Sennachai

The opening act was Sennachai aka Maxwell Franko, a composer and performer who used vocal looping, synths and guitar to create an enveloping sound experience.

Price Slasher

The second act was Price Slashers, a duo who had synths (Ondes Martinot) and guitar and created a noise/distortion based soundscape that was super interesting.

Then we played. Being joey phd’s first musical gig ever, at 45 years old, it was a good deep in plunge for him.

“I wasn’t nervous, but it was a whole new experience being on the stage rather than being an audience member. It was cool…” – joey phd

Having been invited by Blackmagic Cyborg, aka Brandon Lynch, he gave us our premise and we worked in our instruments after Blackmagic Cyborg set the literal tone.

Seesar came with his freshly built daxophone and also his bicycle which he employed very nicely! We all look forward to hearing his daxphone in action in the future.

Blackmagic Cyborg brought their suitcases of goodness and jamed out in the shadows the stage leading with great sounds and build ups. It was a treat for sure and something like with Seesar we hope to see again in the near future.

joey phd brought his acrylic synth, vocoder and sequencer and for his first ever gig did a pretty good job.

Finally a huge shout out to Bryan W., creative media lab student, who took on shooting photos for the event and really hitting them out of the park!

See you all soon!

We can’t wait to have more programing, so stay tuned, Synthposium 3.0 will be happening in the Spring of 2027.

Also a reminder, we have started a central Texas Synth & Projection FB group. Feel free to join and follow.
